ABOUT US
KRINI is a gallery and workshop of stone and marble arts and crafts. It is located at the village of Kardiani, on the island of Tinos (Cyclades, Greece). It is owned by the sculptor Minas Maravellias.
Minas is a graduate of the School of Fine Arts of Tinos, which focuses on the traditional Tinian Marble Craftsmanship, part of the European Intangible Cultural Heritage inventory of UNESCO. He also collaborates with the Hellenic Ministry of Culture in various projects of restoration of ancient monuments (Delos, Milos, Despotiko, Lesvos, e.t.c.). Minas has also been an instructor of workshops on plastic arts. Moreover, he is a cyclist, climber, and gardener.
KRINI (KPHNH in greek) means fountain.
The phrase ΝΙΨΟΝ ΑΝΟΜΗΜΑΤΑ ΜΗ ΜΟΝΑΝ ΟΨΙΝ, written at the entrance of KRINI, is a palindrome (reads the same backward as forward) and it invites the visitors of the fountain to clean their spirit together with their body.
